Learn to Control Your Reactive Mind!

Uncontrollable or constant negative feelings or irrational thoughts come from your reactive mind. This includes feelings and attitudes such as stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, anger, resentment, continuing grief, shyness and extreme introversion.

Have there been times you felt you couldn’t control your own thoughts, emotions or what you did or said? That you were a powerless bystander to your own actions and feelings?

Have you wondered why it’s hard to get rid of unwanted feelings despite anything you try? Why you stayed sad, anxious, introverted, resentful, angry, feeling low self-esteem or stuck in a breakup, betrayal or other trauma? For days, months or even years?

The answers lie in your reactive mind, the part of your mind that remains hidden from you, but that can affect and control you when triggered.

At San Jose Mission we use Dianetics auditing. It delves into your reactive mind and discovers the root cause of your unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Read on to learn more about the reactive mind.

What is the Reactive Mind?

The reactive mind is the portion of a person’s mind which works on a totally stimulus-response basis. It is not under his volitional (willing) control, and exerts force and the power of command over his awareness, purposes, thoughts, body and actions.

The reactive mind is the discovery of L. Ron Hubbard, a result of research spanning more than two decades. The exact nature of the reactive mind is described in his bestselling book, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, first published in 1950.

L. Ron Hubbard discovered that the mind has two very distinct parts. One of these—the part that you consciously use and are aware of—is called the analytical mind. This is the portion of the mind which thinks, observes data, remembers it and resolves problems. It has standard memory banks which contain mental image pictures and uses the data in these banks to make decisions that promote survival. The other is the reactive mind, which records during moments of physical or emotional pain when the analytical mind shuts down.

When a person is fully conscious, his analytical mind is fully in command. When the individual is “unconscious” in full or in part, the reactive mind cuts in, in full or in part. The reactive mind can cut in and take control to a greater or lesser degree during moments of a weakened analytical state, such as when someone is tired, ill or has taken drugs or alcohol.

Dianetics Auditing at San Jose Mission

Dianetics auditing is done while you are fully awake. You address painful incidents in your past, including previously hidden and unavailable moments of physical pain, emotional pain and unconsciousness stored in the reactive mind. Through this process, people have been able to remember far back into their childhood and even times when they were fully unconscious, such as during an operation.

These techniques can effectively “erase” the contents of the reactive mind and eliminate the ability of such recordings to affect the person without his conscious knowledge.

Furthermore, these techniques make these formerly hidden memories available to the individual as memory in the analytical mind. The effectiveness of these techniques, astonishing in many cases, has been documented in a multitude of case histories over a half-century of application.

We have helped thousands of people restore control over their own thoughts, emotions and behavior.
